Market Day – Oct 5th
October 5, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
At JFM, we are thankful for the joy and abundance we get to experience every week, all because of amazing vendors, volunteers, community and patrons, such as you. Join us Saturday morning for our weekly farmers market at the Junction Train Platform 9 am – 1 pm to continue the celebration of local food, music, community, and sustainability!
Get your weekly local veggies, eggs, cheese, bread, honey, preserves, mushrooms and meat from our wonderful local farmers and food artisans: Bizjak Farms, de la terre bakery, Emily Rose Apiaries, Fiddlehead Farm, Fifthtown Artisan Cheese, Kendal Hills Farm, Oakridges Finest, Red Dog Farm: Garlic & Honey, Robinson Bread, The Smoke Bloke, Twin Creeks Farm, Willo’ Wind Farm, and Wheelbarrow Farm. Learn more about our JFM vendors on our website!
Enjoy Market Day eats while you shop or bring ’em home to delight! This week, Bolo Soups brings us vegan and vegetarian cozy soup selections served up with de la terre bakery bread n’ butter. The Baker’s Bar returns with their sweet cupcakery treats. And, we welcome back Real Empanada with their delicious baked pockets, now with vetegarian option, and homemade salsa. Yum! Leaning Post Wines is back with their red and white specialty Ontario wines. Be sure to ask Nadia about their vineyard additions! Better Bites Blvd is popping in with their 100% natural and vegan Guilty Pleasures desserts and popular preserves (their kimchi is favourite)!
Be sure to sign up for our weekly market e-newsletter to hear about what’s on and what’s new for each Saturday market!
In the Community Corner….
Music to your ears –
Patrick O’Neill
In 2010, a year after major aortic-valve replacement surgery, Patrick O’Neill began to teach himself to play the 5-row Chromatic Button Accordion. Enjoy his wide ranging repertoire of waltzes, reels, jigs & more at the Junction Train Platform this Saturday, 9 to 1pm!
At the Community Table –
Meet Marisa, local Founder of Sock Footage this Saturday at the Community Table! Sock Footage seeks to engage in random acts of kindness as a by-product of everyday sock purchases. Socks are the most needed, but least donated items at homeless shelters. For every pair of Sock Footage socks purchased, a donation pair will be received at a local shelter. #PayItFootward
